Examples of technical installation of the product:

Technical description:

Multitube fireproof intumescent tape is a polymer tape with an admixture of graphite and other components that make the assembly smooth and flexible, and under high temperature it increases its volume, closing the aperture with the pipe or cable on which it is wound. The cross-section tape has a rectangular shape and is manufactured in several sizes: 60 x 2.5 mm, 60 x 4 mm, 100 x 4.8 mm, 100 x 2.4 mm. The tape is rolled into a roll of various lengths, from 15 to 30 m. In the case of Multitube fireproof intumescent tape, its unique feature is cross-section interchangeability. The strip cross-sections are interchangeable, which means that one cross-section can be replaced with another cross-section, the interchangeability of cross-sections is presented in the tables below. The fireproof intumescent tape should be cut off and adjusted to the outer circumference of the pipe, wrapped on the pipe and fixed with an electrically clamped band or a self-adhesive universal adhesive tape.

Intended use:

Multitube fireproof intumescent tape is intended for sealing and stopping fire in the service penetrations of plastic and metal pipes with or without flammable or non-flammable insulation and cables running through walls or floors. Fire resistance class from EI 30 to EI 180. The material list of pipes and insulation is presented in the Table below.  For additional information see ETA-15/0511.

Installation data:

Multitube fireproof intumescent tape does not require a supporting structure, therefore it can be mounted directly on the pipe at its destination. The tape is wrapped directly on the pipe or on the outside of the pipe insulation, depending on the type of pipe and type of insulation (for details see ETA-15/0511). For pipes running through the floor, wrapping with a fireproof tape can be performed both before pouring the floor or part of the floor with concrete mortar, and when pouring the floor or part of the floor with concrete mortar. For pipes running through a wall, wrapping with a fireproof intumescent tape can be done while the wall or part of it is built. For pipes led in a shaft or in technical openings, wrapping with a fireproof intumescent tape should be performed before walling them up. For drilled holes, Multitube fireproof intumescent tape should be wrapped and fastened around the pipe outside the opening and inserted into the floor in the partition or placed on both sides of the bulkhead. Fixing the fire-resistant tape on the pipe can be done with an electrically clamped band or with a silver adhesive tape.

A mounting clearance (u = approx. 25 mm) for penetration seals using Multitube fireproof intumescent tape is only required due to the space required for its installation when drilling holes in existing partitions.

We install fireproof intumescent tapes in the walls along the axis of the wall or symmetrically on both sides. In floors, a fireproof intumescent tape should be installed 15 ± 5 mm from the bottom of the floor.

APERTURE:

The aperture is a hole prepared temporarily in the partition through which the installation is carried out (pipes or cables), after the installation is completed, the hole should be bricked up, filled with concrete (belongs to the group of downturning works). Multitube fireproof intumescent tape can be mounted directly on pipes or on pipe insulation in the following way: in the installation opening before or during pouring concrete in the floor, part of the floor, wall or shaft or technical opening. Examples of application of the fireproof intumescent tape assembly before it is embedded with concrete are shown in the figures below.

The mounting clearance (u = ca 25 mm) obtained after drilling in the supporting structure in order to seal with the Multitube fireproof intumescent tape is required due to the space needed for assembly (inserting the fireproof tape into the hole).

ADDITIONAL PRODUCTS THAT CAN BE USED WITH THE MULTITUBE FIREPROOF INTUMESCENT TAPE IN PENETRATIONS

  • synthetic, flexible elastomeric foam (FEF) according to EN 14304, fire reaction class BL-s3, d0 according to EN 13501-1, and with a nominal density of 45 - 70 kg / m3,

  • mineral wool  continuous insulation with a minimum thickness of 30 mm and a density of 80 kg / m3 on plastic or metal pipes,

  • PE foam, reaction to fire class E according to EN 13501-1, and with a nominal density of 30 kg / m3,

  • Insulating Tubolit PE foam, with reaction to fire class E according to EN 13501-1, and with a nominal density of 30 kg / m3,

  • PE acoustic mat (Weberfloor 4955 dB mat), fire reaction class Bfl-s1 according to EN 13501-1, and with a nominal mass per unit area of 12 kg / 30 m2.

ATTENTION:

The PE Weberfloor 4955 dB mat acoustic mat is recommended for floors, especially when it is required to reduce the acoustic effects of sewage pipes - according to the manufacturer's data, additional sound absorption of the mat up to 19 dB for one mat layer is required.
